Milan Wells
Guiding Mental Wellness Through Communication and Resilience
Milan Wells is a psychotherapist specializing in addiction therapy, individual and family counseling, and holistic healing. His lifelong passion for psychology stems from a deeply personal and transformative journey. Throughout his life, Milan has also been raised alongside a stepfather whom he loves and respects as his own father, an experience that provided him with a powerful example of stability, care, and healthy masculine presence. Growing up in a broken family, Milan spent a brief yet impactful time with an abusive, alcoholic father. This experience gave him firsthand insight into the profound effects of trauma and its ripple effects on individuals, families, and communities.
These early hardships ignited Milan’s deep commitment to understanding and addressing unresolved emotional wounds. Over the years, he has developed a compassionate and practical approach to therapy, empowering clients to overcome past traumas and build healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Milan’s professional journey has been as diverse as it is inspiring. During his time in Vancouver, Canada, he worked extensively with children, providing emotional support and guidance, and with the elderly, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges. His work in these settings deepened his understanding of resilience and the importance of nurturing relationships across all stages of life.
Before fully dedicating himself to psychotherapy, Milan gained rich and diverse professional experience across multiple fields, including IT, Human Resources, Social Services, and Public Events organization. In his younger years, he was also involved in DJ-ing, which gave him a unique connection to people, energy, and social dynamics. Altogether, he brings a wide range of life and work experience developed across two continents.
In addition to his practical experience, Milan has earned an impressive array of qualifications. After immigrating to Canada in 2014, he completed a diploma in Project Management at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and a Psychotherapist/Counseling diploma at the Vancouver College of Counsellor Training (VCCT). His certifications include Addiction Worker Certification, the MANDT System for safe behavioral management, FS Facilitator training, and an Art Therapy diploma from VCCT. These diverse skills enable Milan to tailor therapy plans to the unique needs of each client, integrating psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness techniques, creative therapeutic methods, and most recently the PEAT technique, which he continues to integrate into his ongoing therapeutic work.
What makes Milan’s work unique is his integrative approach — he does not use the same method for every client, but instead adapts his work to the individual, their needs, and their personal journey. He believes that for every problem, there is a solution when approached with the right level of awareness, commitment, and support.
Milan’s extensive experience includes designing recovery-focused vocational training programs to help clients reintegrate into the workforce, fostering independence and personal growth. His unique perspective, rooted in his early career in IT and project management, brings a high level of communication and organization to his therapeutic practice.
At the heart of Milan’s philosophy is the belief that healing is not just possible but transformative. His personal story of overcoming adversity inspires his mission: to provide a safe, nurturing space where individuals can confront their struggles, rediscover their strength, and move toward a life of peace and fulfillment.
Today, at Compassionate Counseling Clinic, Milan blends professional expertise with personal insight to create a sanctuary for healing and growth. His work is rooted in compassion, resilience, and a deep commitment to helping individuals and families achieve mental balance and serenity in an increasingly complex world.
